After trying a barre or yoga class, if you want an upbeat, energetic, and extreme workout, Cardio Maxx is the place to be. Mixing up your group fitness classes throughout the week can make sure that you don’t get bored or stop pushing yourself.  A high-energy workout is just the thing to enhance your workouts and gives you the needed muscle strengthening, stress reducing, and calorie burning routine you need. If you haven’t experienced a cardio fitness class, here’s what you can expect.

Expect to Sweat

Sweating is a natural part of a functioning body, so don’t feel self-conscious when your face turns red and sweat is dripping from your eyebrows. If you’re not at your peak fitness level, it’s ok! Struggling to complete a move doesn’t mean you should give up and never come back again. It means you need to push yourself so that you can reach your goals. Sweating is how you know you’re making progress!

Group FitnessWarm-Ups Are Hard

There will be times when getting through the entire class doesn’t seem possible when the warm-up is harder than you expected. Group Fitness Instructors will all lead their class differently, and sometimes the warm-up can be the worst part. But this is what is getting your body and heart ready to build strength and stamina.

Work at Your Own Pace

This doesn’t mean you can go through the fitness class not caring about pushing yourself. But if you are having trouble completing a move as the instructor or rest of the class is doing it, there will be modifications so that you can safely complete the move. Our first priority is safety, so if you don’t feel comfortable, modify what you’re doing slightly, but always keep moving.

Keep Working at It

As you continue with your group fitness classes, it will get easier. Cardio is meant to be hard, but as your muscles (especially your heart) strengthen, you’ll find that you can push yourself harder, last longer, and feel even better at the end of the class.

Benefits of Cardio Workouts

Group FitnessIf you’re wondering what you are really getting out the class, remind yourself of your goals and tell your body that the routine and drills are good for you!

  • Improves Heart Health: When you think of your heart as a muscle like any other, you’ll realize that it needs to be worked and strengthened in order to reduce the risk of various diseases.
  • Increases Metabolism: Raising your heartbeat can lower your metabolic rate. A lower metabolism means you’ll maintain your weight easier. Sounds good, right?
  • Increase in Energy: Do you want to sleep better and have more energy throughout the day? A cardio group fitness class will do just that.
  • Improves Brain Health: When you perform aerobic exercises, this increases the size of the hippocampus, which helps with memory and learning.

We understand that if you’re new to cardio group fitness classes, it may be intimidating and challenging. But that’s what makes it fun! Push yourself to achieve your goals and you will notice an improved quality of life. Don’t believe us? Join a class today to see for yourself.
